***Note: I will be splitting up this day's event into three separate blogs considering SungJin, Jia and I were together from 8pm to 11:30 pm during out night out on Wednesday.
SungJin, Jia Moon, and I all decided to grab some dinner at El Jalisco on Wednesday, June 15th. I had proposed the idea of getting some dinner for a last farewell during out last conversation on Tuesday. It was not until one hour before I was supposed to pick up SungJin and JiaMoon that they asked asked if it was alright for Jia's conversation partner, Jackie to could come along. I told him that I would love for her to come and that we have many things in common such as mutual friends, and out love for Italy, and traveling the world. It was not until our night finished that I realized that SungJin and Jia were nervous and reluctant of asking me if Jackie could come on a last minute basis because this was not customary in Korea. I told SungJin that it was perfectly fine and that Jackie and I had talked before hand and had already planned for everyone to eat together. I was not aware of this until I drove SungJin home. Nevertheless, I picked up JiaMoon and SungJin at the Strozier library at 7:45 pm. The plan was to meet everyone at El Jalisco at 8pm. As soon as SungJin entered my car, he said "Paco, you have a very cute car." Both JiaMoon and I laughed at his polite comment. SungJin became confused and I tried to explain to him that it is funny that he mentioned my car was "cute" because it is a small hatchback (Scion Xa) and girls are always telling me that I have a cute car. What SungJin wanted to say is that my car is nice and compact. I understood what he meant to say. By the time it was 8:00 pm, we arrived at El Jalisco to meet Jackie and her two friends. SungJin immediately told the server that he will be paying for my dinner and told me to ask for the "most expensive dish."
Bahaha! This was amusing and very fun!
