I met a Colombian lady, Luz, at the conversation club today. She studies English at TCC, but her husband told her about this free conversation club they have at FSU. She decided to come because she wants to improve her conversation skills. She has been living 11 years in the U.S., but she feels like she cannot express herself as easily in English as she does in Spanish. Luz told me that she could not practice English very much in Miami. Now that she is in Tallahassee, she feels more pressured to improve her English because the Spanish community is not as big.
