Francisco CP-5

On Wednesday, June 1st, I met with Abduhlrahman for the first time as a one on one conversation. I immediately could tell that Abdu's English speaking skills are quite fluent. He can understand the majority of what I say and is able to hold a conversation without much pause. I asked Abdu how long he has been studying English and he said five months. I became extremely amazed at his progress in the English language considering he can speak it very well. I inquired about Abdu's ambitions and he told me that he holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry but has become bored with the subject matter. He plans on studying business administration as soon as he passes the TOEFL exam. Only then can he continue his masters in business administration. Abdu asked about my plans and I told him I graduated in the spring and I am currently staying in Tallahassee until I complete my TEFL certificate. Once that is done I plan on moving back home in Orlando and working my head lifeguard job at the YMCA. Abdu asked why I chose a career in in lifeguarding when he thinks I am capable of so much more with a college degree. I laughed understandably and explained to him that this is only a temporary thing until I find a teaching job abroad. It is something to get my "feet off of the ground" since I just graduated from college. Abdu laughed and understood. Abdu mentioned he wants to go to Orlando some time and would like to buy a season pass for the theme parks. We looked at prices together and I told him he has a place to stay if he ever wants to come down to Orlando for a weekend while I am living there. He thanked me and also said if I ever want to visit Suadi Arabia, I also have a place to stay.
