The next great adventure with my Thai friend was quite the experience. I decided to invite him to my house simply just to hang out and to give him a little preview into what the average family house for what I would conceive as a “middle class” neighborhood would look like. After picking him up, I was trying to think about things to talk about and decided on giving a brief description of what to expect once we arrived at my house. I told him that I lived outside of the city and that my parent’s home was in, what some would consider, suburbs of Tallahassee. Then after arriving it happened… he met, the beast. I own a 150 pound Blood Hound puppy and had forgot to warn him of the inside houseguest that roams the Wilson residence. He indicated right off the bat that he was not afraid of dogs, but the look on his face and simply his reaction to the dog known as Mack was classic. You could certainly tell that our cultural tendencies toward pets were… different. Mack in all his loud barking/howling glory felt the need to further elaborate on this factor.
